Apollo 13

President Richard M. Nixon and the Apollo 13 astronauts James A. Lovell, John L. Swigert Jr., and Fred W. Haise Jr.
Jim Lovell,Jack Swigert, Fred Haise,& President Nixon...
In 1967 a practice take-off took place at NASA but it killed the 3 astronauts inside the rocket. In 1969 the NASA people wanted to send Apollo 13 into space but one of the back up guys got the measles and the original pilot guy hasn't had them yet so they didn't let him go into space because they said there is a possibility that he could get them. So they had too send the back up pilot names Jack Swigert and the commander named Jim Lovell wasn't too happy about it. When Jim Lovell , Jack Swigert , and Fred Haise went into space they had a good take off and then they all were happy. Once they got into space Fred threw up and Jim and Jack freaked out. It was really sad when jack tried to turn up the oxygen but then 2 tanks like popped or something. They started losing oxygen and their CO2 levels started to rise. It was sad because the news guy said that it was literally poisoning the astronauts. They were able to lower the CO2 levels and then they thought they wouldn't have enough power to get home. They ended up having enough power but when they were coming back the NASA people said nobody has ever took more than 3 minutes to get through but they took about 4 minutes. When they came through they were rescued and got home safely. When we go to NASA I would like to learn about the Apollo 13 mission and what went wrong and see real pictures of the people.
