Darfur Is Dying ! Part 2 , .

In the game Darfur Is Dying I learned about the genocide that is going on in Darfur . I learned how bad it is there and how hard it is to survive in Darfur . When you die in this game or get captured this little thing pops up & if you're character is a guy then it usually says they'll get beaten or kidnapped by the Janjaweed . If you're a girl it says you'll probably get raped then beaten & possibly kidnapped by the Janjaweed .
    When you forage for water there is some kids or a mom or dad that you can choose from . I think the game designers gave you different characters so you know like how each one is different . The younger kids run faster than the older kids but , the older kids carry more water . For example the mom carries the most water , but is the slowest & Jaja carries only a little bit of water but , runs the fastest . I think in the game it's like real life for the people in Darfur because if you get caught by the Janjaweed bad things really do happen & you have to actually forge for water & even that is unsafe .
      There is two parts of the game . One is where you have to forage for water & the other is where you have to maintain a camp . You have to get water for the people in the camp & water crops so you have food . You also have to worry about the camps safety & health . If you get attacked then you have to build bricks to replace the structures that were destroyed . I think this was included in the game because in Darfur you really have to those things to survive . It is also a way to win the game because if you keep everything in order for 7 days , you win . 
                  While you're in the camp you have a threat meter . Ways to lower the threat meter is to click on learn more about genocide in Darfur . It brings you to a page where you can chose to either send a letter to Barrack Obama , share the game on face book ,  or other things . I think they have this here so you can look for other ways to help the people in Darfur & so you can realize how serious this topic is . 
           Playing the game didn't really inspire me to want to learn more , but the movie did .
